Our new single, Try (Cross My Heart), has just been featured on White Light//White Heat! Check out their great blog.

“Finally a new EP after a long hiatus, since their excellent debut album “Our Pleasure of Solitude” in the late 2016, from Washington, D.C. darkwave/post-punk trio Social Station.

The band’s live activity and a video at the end of last year were cause for optimism, and just yesterday here they are back with a new single, typical of their extremely persuasive and highly melodic blend of darkwave, post-punk and dreampop, certainly influenced by the classic The Cure, Joy Division, early Bowie and The Smiths, while maintaining a thoroughly modern edge.

“Try (Cross My Heart)” is uplifting and depressing, the lyrics appear to counter their signature “melancholy sound”, built on beautifully pulsing basslines, protesting soaring synths, sparkling jangle guitars and somewhat deceptive leads. The passionate lovelorn vocals, which glide and collide with dramatic intensity, into a feelings of nothingness, haunting melodies and seductive urgent harmonies, conveying the darkest side of the mind.

A more than welcome return, let’s hope for the, already written, sophomore full length soon”
