While Election Day is bearing down on us, I can’t help but be reminded of the all consuming nature of politics in DC. Amidst all the turmoil, there is an artistic vitality being fueled by DIY venues throughout the city.
Last Saturday, The commune at 1605 brought together an amazing collection of artists for a great night of music. Social Station joined More AM Than FM, The Meer, The Accidents, and Dustin Tyler, celebrating halloween, and channeling our favorite artists. We did our best to evoke the passion of Joy Division with the tunes Shadowplay and Love Will Tear us Apart. We also played our favorite songs, including Sky Fill Fall and Awfully Pretty, along with a new song we are about to record for an upcoming album, Try. Thanks to the talented photography of Roxplosion, the night is chronicled.
